NMIMS School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SAST) is a brainchild of the University Chancellor Shri. Amrish R Patel who has a deep passion and commitment for the well-being of rural communities and farmers. He has contributed to Shirpur region through his most renowned soil & water conservation initiative popularly called as "Shirpur Pattern”. His vision and relentless efforts for recharging the water table was accomplished by conserving every drop of water in situ. He envisages a paradigm shift in the farm productivity, farmers’ profitability and employability. SAST is created for making a revolution in the way agriculture is being educated in India.
Through a rigorous recruitment process NMIMS recruited the best faculties in the field of agriculture, representing different parts of the country. The strength and caliber of faculties in the school will help the students to excel in their professional career and chase their dreams. The selected students of the school will be given opportunities to engage themselves in the research projects of the faculties. This gives them exposure to the real field problems and the possible solutions. Additionally, another set of projects facilitates them to earn while learning.
