1. Ms Amruta Mali, Mr Jay Gorania and Dr. Mohammed Faisal presented a poster entitled "A multi-pronged approach for controlling post-harvest tomato diseases with plant extracts and Trichoderma spp.ā€¯ in the "International Conference on Digital Technology Vision 2030: Transforming Healthcare, Education and Industry (ICDTV- 2030) held at Mukesh Patel Technology Park, SVKMā€™s NMIMS, Shirpur during February 17-18, 2024. The poster was adjudged as the best. Both Ms Amruta and Mr Jay are final year students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture of School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology and the work was conducted as part of their Agricultural Experiential Learning module "Production Technology for Bioagents and biofertilizersā€¯ offered in 7th Semester. It is a proud moment for SAST that UG research activities promoted by the School have come to fruition.
2. NMIMS-SASTians Marked a Golden milestone ..!!
Our Proud Alumni, #Pawan Rajput and #Manoj Mali (Batch 2019-23, Indeed First batch of SAST) have been selected for "Agripreneurship Orientation Programme (2-month duration) under RKVY-RAFTAAR" at CCS NIAM, Jaipur, Rajasthan". Later they will be granted Rs. 5 lakhs for their Business Development.
3. Ms. Amruta Mali and Ms. Poonam Patil studying in Final Year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture have participated in the SmartIdeathon Competition held at GITAM University Hyderabad in association with on the 24th and 25th of August, 2023. The event was organized in association with Startup India, IIC, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and Northeastern University, Boston, USA.
The SmartIdeathon was a "Student pitching competitionā€¯ and the duo reached to Final rounds and secured a position of Top 8 Finalists among the participants across the country.
4. Pranav Yuvaraj Firake studying B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture at School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, NMIMS, Shirpur has been selected for India Under 19 Team.The selection was made by Executive Board / Sr. Selection Committee of Indian Twenty 20 Cricket Federation. He will be the part of Indian U-19 Squad for the upcoming Premier League organized by ICA (Indian Cricket Academy) and Khammam Twenty 20 Cricket Federation from 4-15th December, 2022 at Khammam, Telangana State
5. Pranav Yuvaraj Firake, 3rd year B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, SAST, Shirpur, a student has participated in the 30th Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship 2022-23 held at Haridwar, Uttarakhand from 20-25th September 2022, organized by Uttarakhand Tennis Ball Cricket Association under the Aegis of Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India (TBCFI) recognised by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. Of India. He represented Maharashtra State Team, which finished the event as runner-up. At the Individual level, he got the "Best Wicket Keeperā€¯ Award; His team also received a cash award of Rs. 3,00,000/-.
6. NMIMS SOBUS Center of Excellence in partnership with E-Cell, MPTP, Shirpur campus organized a two-day Ideation Workshop during 8-9 October 2022 to enable students to learn and develop an understanding of designing solutions, idea frameworks, and business models
Mr. Om Maheswari from B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture 2nd year and Mr. Bhavesh Dahikar and Mr. Nikhil Kumar Pandey both from Textiles 2nd year won the First prize for their idea of quick drying of the farm produce to avoid losses due to rains, based on their real-time experience.
Mr. Shivam Mahajan from B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture 2nd year and Mr. Chirag Patil and Mr. Bharat Soni both from Diploma in Textiles 2nd year bagged second prize for their idea on agri-value addition.
The third prize was won by the team of Ms. Amrutha Mali from B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture 3rd year and Mr. Devanshu Patil from Pharm.Tech. Ist year who addressed menupause issue which is hitherto considered a taboo in the rural areas.
