1. SVKM's NMIMS, School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology in association with G. R. Patil Secondary School, Gidhade organized a Blood Donation Camp on 12 January 2023 on the occasion of National Youth Day and birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijau Bhosale.
2. On the occasion of World Soil Day 2022, SVKM’s, NMIMS School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Shirpur campus and Amrishbhai R. Patel School (CBSE) jointly celebrated a ‘World Soil Day’ to create the awareness and importance of soil health among the students.
3. Orientation program for the 2022-2026 batch of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture
The first year of the 2022-2026 batch of the B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture started at School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology and inaugural session of the Orientation program was organized on 13th October 2022. Dr. S. Desai, Dean explained the need for trained agricultural graduates and opportunities open for them. He also narrated about the facilities available at the campus and the efforts for ensured learning by the students. The event was attended by the students accompanied by their parents who were later taken around the campus as well as SAST to show the amenities created for the students. The orientation will go on until 15th October 2022.
4. International Plant Health Day
Celebrated on 12-05-2022. On the occasion, a group activity was conducted for students. Groups were formed involving students of all the batches. They were assigned to prepare posters on various Biotic and Abiotic stresses that affect the plant health and their management strategies. Dr. Krishna Chaitanya and Dr. Mallikarjun Dhotre organized the event in co-ordination with all the faculty members. Dean Chaired the session and announced the winners of the best poster.
5. On the eve of International Women’s Day, all the students (first, second and third year) and faculty members of School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, NMIMS Shirpur campus actively participated in the Regional webinar on "Women in Research and Extension: Advancing Gender Equality in Innovation in Asia Pacificâ€
6. Planting Programme: During monsoon season of 2022, fruit planting was taken up at SAST Farm. The majority of planting was done by our enthusiastic students. The orchard planting was done in an area of around 6 acres with around 550 saplings. Alongside planting of Agro-Forestry saplings was also taken up in about 15-acre land. Dr. Mallikarjun Dhotre lead the activity.
