EDUCATIONAL TOURS & VISITS

1. Dr Mahesh Chaudhari along with IIIrd year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, carried out industrial visit at the Vasudhara Dairy Dhule Unit, MIDC Dhule, Maharashtra on date 17-01-2024.

 

2. Visit to Paras Baag at ‘Ambe’ a tribal village on 27th September, 2023, Dr. Mallikarjun Dhotre organized the visit for II year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students as a part of "Production Technology for Vegetables & Spices” course.


3. Visit to Sahyadri Farms and a Grape Raisin preparation unit in Nasik

On April 25, 2023, final year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students undertook a visit organized by Dr. Mallikarjun Dhotre and Dr. K.V. Patil as part of their curriculum. The visit included exploration of Sahyadri Farms' processing units, where students observed the Export Packaging Unit for Grapes, the tomato (ketchup) processing chain, and the IQF unit for various fruits and vegetables. Additionally, the team visited a Grape Raisin making unit in Mohadi owned by Mr. Mohd. Siraj. During the visit, Mr. Siraj provided insights into the raisin-making process, including duration, labor requirements, costs, packaging, and marketing strategies, benefiting the students' understanding of agricultural practices.


 

4. Visit to ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhule:
The visit was organized by Dr. K. V. Patil, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Extension) as a part of ‘Fundamentals of Agricultural Extension’ course, for II year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students on 30th August, 2022. Dr. Nitin Misal, Assistant Professor (Soil Science) accompanied the team. The students were taken to ICAR-KVK, Dhule to understand the mandates and activities of the KVK. They were exposed to different facilities and interacted with the distinguished Scientists.


 
 

5. Visit to Sahyadri Farms, Nashik

Firstly, the team visited Sahyadri Farms, a Farmer Producer Organisation hosts several food processing units. The visit provided insights to the students on practical aspects of agricultural marketing including input management, value addition, pricing and output management.


 
 

6. Visit to Deesan Agro Tech Pvt. Ltd., Dhule:

Students of III year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture visited Deesan Agro Tech’s processing plant at MIDC, Dhule on 06-03-2022. The visit was organized by Dr. Mallikarjun Dhotre and Dr. K.V. Patil as a part of their curriculum. Mr. Aravind Shukla (Operation Manager) explained about the various products prepared out of soybean processing. He also took the team to various processing facilities and gave a brief explanation of each of the operations. Various equipments / machines related to milling, pressing, grain dryers, grading and sorting machines, oil refining unit, chunk preparation etc, which were related to processing refined oil, soy meat, soy chunks, soy granules, soybean flour, lecithin were explored by the students.

 

7. Visit to Grape vineyard, Karate, Nashik

As a component of ‘Production Technology for Fruit and Plantation Crops’ curriculum, the visit was taken up to a grape vine yard belonging to Mr. Sharad Kadam of Korate, Nashik. The objective was to understand the farmers’ practices to cultivate and manage the grape vine yards. Another objective of the visit was to understand the pruning practices in grapes which he explained very well on his site.


 
 

8. Mallikarjun Dhotre organized a visit to Nursery at Kalmsare village on 12-10-2022 as a part of AELP – Commercial Seed Production for Final year students

 
 

9. Mallikarjun Dhotre organized a visit to Mango orchard at Shirpur on 14-09-2022 as a part of ‘Production Technology for Fruit and Plantation Crops’ for III year students.

 
 

10. Mallikarjun Dhotre along with Dr. Vijay Kumar Didal and Dr. Varun Shende organized a visit to Banana and Papaya farms at Tardi and Borkheda on 18-09-2021 as a part of ‘Production Technology for Fruit and Plantation Crops’ for III year students.

 

11. Mallikarjun Dhotre organized visit to vegetable farmers around Tardi on 10-03-2022 as a part of ‘Production Technology for Vegetables and Spices’ for II year students.


 
 

12. Mallikarjun Dhotre organized visit to vegetable farmers around Tardi on 13-10-2021 as a part of ‘Production Technology for Vegetables and Spices’ for II year students.

 

13. Nithin K. N. and Dr. K. V. Patil organized a visit to vegetable collection centre at Bhabhlaj on 10-03-2021 to understand the marketing of the vegetables

 

14. Mallikarjun Dhotre organized a visit to Madhur Food Park, Shirpur on 05-03-2022 as a part of ‘Post-Harvest Management and Value Addition of Fruits and Vegetables’ for III year students.

 

15. Dr. Varun Shende organized visits to farmers’ fields around Shirpur on 13-10-2021 as a part of ‘Commercial Plant Breeding’ for III year students.
