1. Papaya Good Agricultural Practices Workshop:

A ‘Farmer-Scientist-Industry Workshop on Good Agricultural Practices for Papaya Cultivation’ was organized on 10th March 2024 at Agricultural College Farm, Tardi, Shirpur, Dhule district. The event was jointly organized by the School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SAST), Department of agriculture, Government of Maharashtra and Jai Swaminarayan Banana Farmers’ Producers Company, Tardi.

More than 300 farmers from Shirpur, Dhule and Nandurbar areas attended the event. Mr. K.M. Tadavi, The Senior District Agricultural Officer, Dhule district, was the Chief Guest of the event while Dr. Suseelendra Desai, Dean, presided over the event. In his address, Mr Tadavi explained to the farmers about various government schemes for the benefit of papaya farmers.

The farmers brought their irrigation water quality samples which was tested by the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture under the faculty guidance. An exhibition of various products was also organized during the workshop for the benefit of the farmers in which more than 10 companies participated. The event was coordinated by faculty and students of School of Agricultural sciences and Technology. Many farmers felt that the workshop was very useful and expressed their satisfaction.



2. On 4th February, 2024 School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Shirpur in Association with Mukesh Patel Charitable Trust (MPCT), Shirpur organized a workshop, परसबाग: आपले उतà¥à¤ªà¤¾à¤¦à¤¨- आपले सà¥à¤µà¤¾à¤¸à¥à¤¥à¥à¤¯â€ (Paras Baag: Apla Utpadan, Apla Swast) at S.M. Patel Auditorium Shirpur. The event was led by Dr. Mallikarjun Dhotre and Dr. K. V. Patil along with co-ordination of Dr. Supriya Pantvaidya and Ms. Poornima Pathak of MPCT.

Final year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students who are undergoing Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) presented various topics about practicing Kitchen Garden (Paras Baag). Around 200 participants, including farmers, tribal farmers and tribal women from nearby villages, took part in the program.







 

3. On 18/09/2023, RAWE students along with, the faculty, Dr Mahesh Chaudhari organized a "Hands on Training Program†on Clean Milk Production was organised for dairy farmers at Thalner Village.

 

4. SVKM’s NMIMS School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology organised Farmers workshop on 15.3.2023 in Bhatane village, Shirpur Tehsil, of Dhule district.






 

5. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Shirpur and SVKM’s NMIMS School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Shirpur, jointly organized a ‘Farmer Interactive Workshop’ in Kalamsare village, Shirpur on 23rd April 2022 to appraise the farmers about the recent developments in agriculture. About 100 farmers and representatives of agro-input companies participated. Dr. Suseelendra Desai, Dean SAST, Dr. Nitin Misal and Dr. Krishna Chaitanya interacted with the farmers and input dealers.

 

6. SVKMs NMIMS - School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Shirpur, organized a ‘Farmer Interactive Workshop’ in Hisale village, Shirpur on 5th April, 2022. Dr. Nitin Misal, Dr. Varun Shende, Dr. K.V. Patil, Dr. Nithin K.N. and Dr. Upasana R were interacted.

 

7. Dr. Upasana R., Dr. K.V. Patil and Dr. Nitin Misal conducted Animal Camp in Tardi in Association with Veterinary Department
