What are the courses offered in SAST?

At present, SAST is offering Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Honours). The opportunities for higher studies such as M.Sc. and Ph.D. are not offered at present.

What is the fees structure for 2023-24 Admission?

The tuition fees for any student per year is Rs.1,25,000/-. Those who indent to stay in hostel needs to pay hostel fees in addition. It is advisable for students pursuing B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons. should stay in hostel as agriculture is a lengthy practical oriented course.

What is the duration of degree?

Being a professional course, the duration of the under graduate degree is for 4 years.

What is the teaching style of SAST?

SAST combines the typical lecture and practical sessions with exposure to field knowledge. We also train students by means of invited lectures and engaging them in research projects.

What is the strength of faculty at SAST?

The faculty team of SAST comprises of Ph.D. graduates from reputed universities across India.

What is the status of accreditation?

The SAST is following the guidelines of ICAR for facilities and UGC for recruitment of faculty. We expect to attain accreditation of ICAR by 2023-24.

To which university is SAST affiliated?

SAST is a part of SVKM’s NMIMS deemed to be University. We are not affiliated to any government state agricultural universities (SAUs).

How much is the area of the upcoming SAST campus?

The upcoming campus of SAST is being built by following the guidelines of ICAR. The area of the new campus is 115 acres.

Whether hostel facilities are available for SAST?

Hostel facilities of good standards are available for the college. There are three hostels for boys and two for girls at the Shirpur campus.

What are the facilities in laboratory?

Despite being a newly established college, we were able to develop the best facilities for the practical exposure of students. We maintain state of art labs for conducting of practical classes. The latest models of various kinds of instruments are maintained in the lab. The major instruments include trinocular microscopes with attached camera facility, trinocular stereo microscopes, laminar air flow chamber, shaker incubator, BOD incubator, infrared thermometer, SPAD meter, green seeker, leaf area meter, plant CO2 analyser, fluorescence meter, spectrophotometer, multi plate sieving apparatus, micro centrifuge, pH meter, conductivity meter and water double distillation unit.

What are the facilities in central library?

The central library of NMIMS campus is a regularly updated facility for reference books and journals. The library maintains 340 books related to various streams of agriculture. Also, they are maintaining 43 databases for e-resources of various kinds.
