Program Objectives
As an institute offering higher education in Agricultural Sciences and Technology, we provide comprehensive learning experiences of Agricultural Sciences and all allied disciplines which had been an integral component of various farming systems and revenue generation models.
We aim at imparting quality education wherein integrating Agricultural Sciences with Animal Sciences, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Agribusiness Management, etc. are affected.
Incorporating the experiences from various Agricultural universities and learning out of their shortcomings we planned to incorporate mutual support, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach of research, teaching, and extension to bring significant revolution in Agricultural education.
Our Primary Objectives
i. To impart knowledge and skills to students in agricultural systems through live and working experiences as well as interactions
ii. To make agricultural education/research/extension systems more responsive to ever-growing needs of farmers and society by bringing in time to time improvements in scientific temper and technological innovations
iii. To develop suitable technologies with student participation, for farmers which are feasible to adopt and economically viable
iv. To gain oral and written communication skills which are essential to lead or establish any reputed organisation
v. To offer relevant services to benefit farmers, rural women, self-help groups, farmer producers’ organizations and other stakeholders
vi. To create industry partnerships for offering experiential learning opportunities to students and building career objectives
Expected Outcomes
i. Imparting detailed knowledge of cultivation practices, soil & fertilizer management, crop protection, crop produce management, livestock management and all associated activities affecting the rural economy
ii. Imparting demonstrative knowledge, integrative skills and technical competences in multiple areas of agricultural sciences, emerging technologies in the field and their applications
iii. Imparting skills pertaining to information mining, knowledge dissemination and popularization of operational business models pertaining to farming and farming systems in India
iv. Imparting detailed knowledge and working skills of Agriculture and its allied disciplines like horticulture, animal sciences, agricultural engineering & technologies, forestry, natural farming, etc.
v. Imparting analytical knowledge and adoptive skills for facilitating detailed understanding and operations to raise farmers’ income and overall livelihoods of rural communities
vi.Imparting professional skills to study markets, consumer demands and creating a platform for marketing of produce
vii.Imparting critical thinking/Problem solving skills which help students to apply critical thinking skills in distinguishing facts and applying scientific principles in formulating, analyzing and solving problems and interpreting results
