The Department of Plant Physiology is the branch of biology that deals with the aspects of vital functions of plant. Our department also undertakes teaching and research on allied disciplines namely Biochemistry, Environmental Sciences and Molecular Biology. Plant Physiology is primarily a connecting link between various disciplines of agriculture such as biotechnology, agronomy, genetics and soil science.
Objectives
i.To teach students on basic sciences such as Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Environmental Sciences and Molecular Biology
ii.To conduct basic research to attain improved and sustainable yield
iii.To conduct basic research and develop methods for improved and durable quality of farm produce
iv.To conduct basic research on tackling various problems in farmers’ fields due to biotic and abiotic stresses
