Practical and Skill Based Training
The course offered by different departments is taught to the students on credit basis, which includes modules for both theory and practical. The practical component helps the students to practice in the actual field, the theoretical concepts they learned will be handy in diagnosing the cause‒effect relationship of field problems.
Educational Tours
Technology and globalization are ushering an era of unprecedented change. The need and pressure for change and innovation is immense. To enrich the practical knowledge of the students, Educational tours shall be mandatory. Students also get an exposure to various research institutes in the country and earns an opportunity to interact with various personalities. In this process, students will inculcate objective, goals and facilities of the institutes. Also, the achievements, industrial and agribusiness perspective will be understood and must be presented as tour reports and oral presentations. The educational tours will make the students to reorient their thinking at a national or global level in various fields of interest.
Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE)
The Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) is a set of modules to bring students for experiencing the rural livelihood at grass-root levels. It helps the students primarily to understand the rural situations, status of agricultural technologies adopted by farmers, prioritize the farmers’ problems and analysis, prepare farm and village development plans and to develop skills & attitude of working with farm families for overall development in rural area. Experiential Learning Program
Experiential Learning Program (ELP) has been introduced at Under Graduate studies with the specific objective of learning by hands-on participation, by trying, making errors, and gradually narrowing the margin between failure and success. Work-based experiential learning through agriculture related supervised experiences provide practical, real-world experiences in agriculture, develop positive work ethics, and meet realistic occupational expectations. ELP helps the students to develop competence, capability, capacity building, acquiring skills, expertise, and confidence to start their own enterprise and turn job creators instead of job seekers. ELP is an important module for high quality professional competence and practical work experience in real life situation to Graduates. This module with entrepreneurial orientation of production and product to market pattern is expected to create a greater number of job providers rather than job seekers in the country.
